King George Fire & Rescue donates retired Reserve Engine 1

Read from original source.

This past Saturday, members of Poagville Volunteer Fire department from Mississippi arrived in King George to pick up retired Reserve Engine 1. Our King George Fire and Rescue volunteers chose to donate this engine in lieu of selling it. Poagville currently has 5 apparatus in their fleet (1 Engine, 3 Tankers and 1 Brush unit), all of which are two seaters. This piece will serve their community well allowing 6 personnel to respond on incidents in a single piece of apparatus. In addition to the engine, President Laurie Hill Liggins, Vice President David Garvin, Past Chief Ted Lovell, Chief Moody and myself sent an assortment of unused older equipment to include box lights, hand tools, old fire hose, negative pressure fans and a cord reel. What a great feeling to be able to assist another department.

Thanks goes out to Lieutenant Ryan Passera and A shift for providing an front to back overview to the Poagville guys and taking time to clean this old beauty up before hitting the road.

– Chief Liggins
